Why the two weeks stay separate
The calculator compares each seven-day total with the threshold you choose. For a 40-hour setting, 45 hours in week one and 35 in week two produce 5 overtime hours—not zero after averaging.
Example: Week one totals 42 hours and week two totals 38. With a 40-hour weekly threshold, the period contains 78 regular hours and 2 overtime hours.
Important limitation
This is an estimate, not an official payroll calculation. Daily overtime, paid leave, bonuses, taxes and jurisdiction-specific rules are not included.
