A 10 PM to 6 AM shift calculates correctly without awkward date entry.
Deduct unpaid breaks and separate standard from overtime hours.
Export a clear CSV or print a clean weekly summary.
For each shift, calculate the elapsed time between clock-in and clock-out, subtract only unpaid breaks, then add the daily results. Ready Hours also shows decimal hours because many payroll systems expect 7.50 rather than 7 hours 30 minutes.
When the end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator treats the shift as ending the following day. A 10:00 PM start and 6:00 AM finish is eight elapsed hours before break deductions.
The weekly threshold separates hours for estimation, but it does not decide whether a person is legally eligible for overtime or which rate applies. Those rules can vary by country, state or province, occupation, agreement and workweek definition.

The break duration is subtracted from elapsed shift time. Do not subtract a paid break.
Thirty minutes is half of a 60-minute hour. Decimal time is not written like clock minutes: 7:30 becomes 7.50, not 7.30.
